Originally conceived as BAM's ballroom in 1908, the Lepercq Space on the Howard Gilman Opera house's second floor has served many purposes since. It now holds BAMcafé, which serves dinner and drinks before BAM performances, and hosts BAMcafé Live, BAM's free music series, on Friday and Saturday nights. The Lepercq Space is also home to the small Brownstone Books store, which features a broad array of performing arts titles alongside the latest in adult fiction and non-fiction. BAM Café is accessible by escalator and elevator.
