The story of Rama—the Ramayana—one of the great epics of South Asia literature, has captured the imagination of Indian artists for centuries. It found its fullest expression in the lavishly illustrated manuscripts of the 17th and 18th centuries, some of which are on display in this exhibit.
Vienna Circa 1780: An Imperial Silver Service Rediscovered

Integral to one's social standing in decadent, 18th-century European court society were extravagant dining services of silver and gold, many of which subsequently were melted down to finance the frequent wars of the period. This exhibition presents a rare surviving Imperial silver service, made about 1779-1782.
