Director Louise Basbas established the concert series in 1974 to offer New York audiences nine centuries of rarely heard medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and early classical music performed by top artists from the United States and abroad. Each season, Music Before 1800 presents eight Sunday afternoon concerts at Corpus Christi Church.
