    The 2,400-seat Walt Whitman Theatre on the campus of Brooklyn College has four seating sections: front orchestra (612 seats), rear orchestra (364 seats), mezzanine (564 seats) and balcony (844 seats). Balcony is accessed by stairs only ---no elevator service is available.

  • Weill Recital Hall

    Manhattan

    On the third floor of Carnegie Hall, the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Recital Hall is an intimate auditorium that hosts recitals, chamber music concerts, symposia, discussions and master classes. Seating 268 people, the elegant auditorium evokes a Belle Epoque salon and is "remarkable for the symmetry of its proportions and the beauty of its decorations," according to a review from 1891, when the hall was known as the Chamber Music Hall. In 1986, the Chamber Music Hall was renamed in recognition of the Chairman of the Board of Carnegie Hall, Sanford I. Weill, and his wife, Joan.

    The West New Brighton Branch was first established in 1913 as a "home station" at 1006 Castleton Avenue. The present location opened its doors on April 1, 1933. The building is air-conditioned, fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs and has a spacious backyard. The branch has collections of 45,000 books, periodicals, CDs, cassettes and videos for adults, young adults and children available for borrowing and use in the library. An auditorium with a seating capacity of 75 serves as a meeting space for library programs and community-sponsored events.
