When women received the right to vote in 1920, artist Georgia O'Keefe was 33; writer Edith Wharton was 58; and actress Sarah Bernhardt was 76. Women past and present are honored at cultural groups in March.
Night(life) at the Museum
Although museum exhibits may not magically spring to life at night, museum visitors sure do. Cultural institutions are letting their hair down and positioning themselves as social hot spots by throwing evening parties for those who appreciate art, a good DJ and a chance to dance near priceless artifacts. The events are also great opportunities to strike up a conversation without being shushed by a guard. Most parties are held monthly.
