CHORNOBYL 25 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the nuclear disaster at Chornobyl, with events including an art exhibition, music performance, discussion and film screenings.
April 19
6 pm – The evening opens with the photo exhibit After Chornobyl by Fullbright Fellowship photojournalist Michael Forster Rothbart, followed by a Video Installation of Roman Hurko’s Requiem: Panachyda for the Victims of Chornobyl, with Projection Design by Jacques Collin.
8 pm – The Gryphon Trio (Winners of the 2011 Juno Awards) will perform works of Beethoven, Silvestrov and Stankovych. in a closing commemorative concert, followed by reception.
April 29
7 pm – Panel Discussion “Aspects of Chornobyl” with moderator Ambassador Valery Kuchinsky, Adjunct Professor Columbia University, and former Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations.
April 30
7 pm – Chornobyl Film Festival, Chornobyl Heart by Maryann de Leo, and other short films.
