Hudson River Pageant 2011

Sat, May 21, 2011, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free admission (all visitors, all hours)

The third annual, free parade of performance art is inspired by the native species and habitats of the Hudson River. The festivities feature a parade of giant puppets and costumed revelers, and 13 site-specific performances to raise ecological awareness, including oyster planting, a dance of river grass, a live fish release, a river "cleansing," a boat dance and a harmonic chant concert. All events take place in the downtown section of Hudson River Park between the Irish Hunger Memorial in Battery Park City at Vesey Street and Horatio Street between Water Playground at Jane Street and the Gansevoort Street pier.
