Out of Doors Festival: Ebony Hillbillies
Sat, Aug 13, 2011, 5:00 pm - 11:59 pm

Free admission (all visitors, all hours)
This concert is part of the 28th Annual Roots of American Music Festival.
As one of the last black string bands in the U.S., the New York City-based Hillbillies keep an important legacy alive with a rootsy, homegrown style that was a key element in the genesis of all-American music: jazz, blues, bluegrass, rockabilly, rock and roll, and country. If you’re one of the hundreds of Ebony Hillbillies fans that have to rush by the band on Thursday mornings in the 42nd Street-Times Square subway station, now is your chance to relax and get down with the band for an hour or so.
The Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival takes place on the plazas of Lincoln Center from July 27 to August 14. Click here to view the full schedule of events.
