Join Women’s eNews, Soledad O’Brien and New York Fire Department Captain Brenda Berkman at 92YTribeca in a tribute to the female heroes who risked and lost their lives on September 11 to save others.

The panelists, with O’Brien as moderator, will discuss the often overlooked women involved in the recovery, relief and rebuilding efforts at Ground Zero, and women’s overall participation in the work force. Brenda Berkman—one of the first women to be accepted into the FDNY—was a New York City Fire Department Captain on September 11, 2001. She remains an ardent activist for recognition and visibility of the women in the uniformed services.

Women’s eNews is an award-winning, nonprofit news service covering issues of concern to women’s lives.
