Tribute in Light, the Municipal Art Society’s iconic memorial honoring the victims of the September 11 World Trade Center attacks, are majestic twin beams of light that illuminate the Lower Manhattan sky.
The illumination begins at dusk on Sunday, September 11 and fades with the dawn on Monday, September 12.
Tribute in Light can be seen from many points across the New York metropolitan area. Some excellent public viewing locations include:
Manhattan: Washington Square Park; Union Square Park; Empire State Building (Observation Deck); Washington Market Park in Tribeca (bounded by Greenwich, Chambers and West Streets); Roosevelt Island’s Waterfront Promenade
Brooklyn: Brooklyn Bridge Park; Brooklyn Bridge Pedestrian Walkway; Brooklyn Heights Promenade; Fulton Ferry State Park; 69th Street Pier; Pulaski Bridge Pedestrian Walkway; Fort Greene Park
