This Labor Day parade is a celebration of West Indian culture, song and dance. Hundreds of thousands of West Indian Americans, Brooklynites and New Yorkers of all backgrounds stake out a spot along the parade route, which runs down Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn from Schenectady Avenue to Grand Army Plaza.

The festivities include live music performances, dance demonstrations, elaborate costumes and floats, samples of West Indian cuisine and a United Nations-worthy collection of flags.
