Veteran public art presenter Creative Time presents Living as Form, an unprecedented, international project featuring over 20 years of socially engaged projects in a large-scale archival survey exhibition. The exhibition is open daily at the historic Essex Street Market on the south side of Delancey Street, opposite the market’s building with food vendors.

The project brings together 25 curators, documents almost 100 artists’ projects, features nine new commissions onsite and in the surrounding neighborhood, and provides a dynamic online archive of over 350 socially engaged projects. Projects range from theater to activism, and urban planning to visual art, emphasizing participation, dialogue and community engagement.

The exhibition space displays documentation, including printed matter and audio-visual materials, related to ephemeral art projects. Mega Words is creating a library-like space for people to read censored books and publications, and provides a photocopy machine. Performances will take place in the space as well.
