Aesthetic Ambitions: Edward Lycett and Brooklyn's Faience Manufacturing Company
Thurs, May 3, 2012 – Sat, June 16, 2012 Among the ceramics on view are 39 Faience pieces, including a number of large-scale vases. Also on view are Lycett’s formula books, family photographs, and other ephemera; rare examples of ceramic works by his three sons; and other Brooklyn-made ceramics from the museum’s collection.
Ongoing A party atmosphere reigns on the first Saturday of the month at one of the country’s oldest and largest art museums. Patrons of all ages can view the world-renowned permanent collections and special exhibits or attend the evening’s events, which include films, performances and a dance party.
Ongoing Two mummies, a 24-foot scroll, figurines and canopic jars used to store vital organs are part of the objects on view from the Brooklyn Museum’s world-famous holdings.
