New York Live Arts was founded in 2011 by a merger of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and Dance Theater Workshop. New York Live Arts offers a robust framework in support of the nation’s dance and movement-based artists through new approaches to producing, presenting and educating.
New York Live Arts presents a world-class season of diverse artists noteworthy for their conceptual rigor and formal experimentation.
It provides unparalleled support for the creation of new work to artists at all stages of their
careers, with a particular focus on mid-career artists.
Audiences and students are given meaningful opportunities to engage with art, artists and

Thurs, June 21, 2012 – Sat, June 23, 2012 Using physical dynamics, luscious movement, and theatrical elements, "Detour" continually shifts the experience of perception. Turning movement inside out, the work plays with timing and musicality, stillness and repetition, spatial design and direction.
Thurs, May 31, 2012 – Sun, June 3, 2012 Led by Israeli-born Artistic Director Zvi Gotheiner, ZviDance will premiere "Dabke," a contemporary dance inspired by the ancient Middle-Eastern folk dance, and "Coupling."
