Open House New York (or openhousenewyork) hosts year-round educational programs celebrating New York City’s built-environment, culminating in America’s largest architecture and design event—the Annual openhousenewyork Weekend.

During the weekend, visitors gain access to hundreds of architecturally and historically significant spaces and places throughout New York’s five boroughs, many of which are typically closed to the public.  OHNY Weekend also features special talks, tours, performances and family activities led by architects, historians, artists and educators.

Past sites and programs have included: tours of the High Line, the Grand Lodge of the Masons, the New York Botanical Garden, Noble Maritime Collection in Staten Island, the Rubin Museum of Art, the Octagon in Roosevelt Island, walking tours of Coney Island, the World’s Fair grounds in Flushing Meadow Corona Park, the Waterfront Museum and Showboat Barge in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and hundreds of other sites around the city.

The Seventh Annual openhousenewyork Weekend took place October 10-11, 2009.
