Location One is a cultural center for dance, music, art exhibitions, film, video and interactive Web events. Gallery exhibitions have included Casual Friday, a series of photo essays by Vesna Pavlovic exploring American office culture; Creative Intelligence: New Work from the MIT Visual Arts Program, a group show; and Letter from the Girl, Mailed at the Gas Station, an experimental video by Enid Baxter Blader.

Dance and performance presentations have included An Exploration, an evening of music and dance by Yves Musard and Ned Rothenberg, respectively; Audio Ballerinas, featuring electro-acoustic tutus by Benoît Maubrey; Three New Works, a dance performance by the Stanley Love Group; Philoctetes, or a Treatise on Three Ethics, a play by André Gide; and Poetic Spectrum—Images, Objects and Words of Gozo Yoshimasu, a literary reading.

Concerts and recitals have included Rinde Eckert; an evening of electronic and vocal music by composer/performers Amy X. Neuburg and Joshua Fried; a live performance by rock trio Morex Optimo; and Radiolaria, a composition for 12 musicians by Elliott Sharp.

Location One has also a presented any number of online and streamed events. These have included a reading of James Joyce’s Ulysses by the synthesized Macintosh voice, Ralph; selected hits in MP3 format by popular Portuguese singer Miguel Soares; American Heavy, a radio play by Gregory Whitehead; and Stream on Location, a video streaming project curated by François Bucher.

In addition, Location One offers an active artist-in-residence programs. These include a senior residency for established artists, which has featured Laurie Anderson; an international fellow program for mid-career artists from foreign countries; and a virtual residency that enables artists to collaborate virtually, without having to meet in person.
