Offering high caliber, low-cost training in music, dance and theater to over 800 students annually, the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts provides children and teens with a complete education in music, dance and theater. Recognized as the leading school for Latin music, the conservatory's curriculum spans folkloric music, contemporary salsa and Latin jazz.

Located in El Barrio (East Harlem), the school teaches three disciplines—music, dance and theater—and celebrates the cultural contributions of the dynamic, diverse East Harlem community to the American performing arts canon. The music program is open to adults; the dance and theater programs are for children and teens.

The faculty is comprised of experienced teaching artists who maintain vital professional performing careers. Through its after-school programs, outreach to public schools and work with community groups, Harbor Conservatory strives to reach as many neighborhood children as possible.

The Music Program is committed to providing children, teenagers and adults with an education in a diverse range of styles from classical and jazz to folkloric and Latin.  The two main pillars of the music program are a strong theory foundation as well as an active performance calendar with monthly "in-house" student recitals, three major outside recitals and a guest artist series which hosts a variety of well-known performing artists and master teachers to work with our students.  A large number of ensembles and workshops in all styles and levels are offered to our young performers as an important part of their musical development.

The conservatory also presents concerts for the general public that feature student musicians and guest artists.
