The NARS Foundation provides short-term residencies and artist studio space as a means to inspire cultural exchange, professional development and community building. Established in 2006, the New York Artist Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation is the unifying organization for an array of creative support services.  With a focus on international cultural exchange, NARS provides low-cost studio space and short-term residencies that connect with the needs of both emerging and mid-career artists.

Located just two express subway stops from Manhattan, NARS Foundation studios occupy adjoined 19th century warehouses near the East River waterfront at 253 36th Street and 88 35th Street. Maps, directions and additional information are available at www.NARSfoundation.org.

By highlighting professional development (i.e. financial planning, new media promotion, materials seminars, etc.) as well as community outreach (through collaboration with other nonprofit groups) NARS strives to create an environment of artistic advocacy.
