BAM Rose Cinemas

The four-screen BAM Rose Cinemas opened in 1998 to screen independent and foreign film new releases, making Brooklyn Academy of Music the only performing arts center in the country with two mainstage theaters and a multiplex cinema.

BAMcinématek, the daily, year-round repertory film program, opened in the summer of 1999. It presents new and rarely seen contemporary films, classics from movie history, works by local artists and film festivals.

Programs for Seniors
Senior Cinema screenings grant moviegoers 65 years of age and older free admission to select classic films (usually screened Fridays at 10 am). Reservations are required and can be made up to three weeks in advance. Call (718) 636-4122 or e-mail communityaffairs@BAM.org. Seating is limited, and includes complimentary popcorn and soda.
