NYC Arts: The Complete Guide to Art and Culture

Founded in 1978, the Seaside Summer Concert Series in Coney Island hosts musicians of all stripes in a series of free outdoor concerts on Thursdays during July and August. For a full schedule, click here. Expect each concert to be kicked off with a speech by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

The series has a new home on West 21st Street and Surf Avenue in 2011. It is next to the stadium where the Brooklyn Cyclones play. The public is encouraged to bring their own chairs. A limited amount of $5 rental chairs in a specially designated area are available on a first come first served basis.
