Women's History Month
When women received the right to vote in 1920, artist Georgia O'Keefe was 33; writer Edith Wharton was 58; and actress Sarah Bernhardt was 76. Women past and present are honored at cultural groups in March.
Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos

Established in 1981 as the exhibition arm of Bronx Council on the Arts, the gallery mounts contemporary art exhibitions throughout the year. Both individual and thematic group shows are featured. It is located in Longwood, one of the Bronx's last surviving historic brownstone districts. Once a public school, the gallery also houses several studios for artists-in-residence.
