Founded in 1979 by Jeffrey Horowitz, the Theatre for a New Audience seeks to reanimate the performance and study of Shakespeare and classic drama. The first American presenting organization invited to present a production of Shakespeare at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Theatre for a New Audience performs regular seasons in New York City at The Duke theater on 42nd Street.
