Reflecting the ethnic diversity of the borough, the Bronx Arts Ensemble's repertory features music from many cultures and in many styles, including classical, salsa and jazz. The ensemble performs at a variety of cultural and historic sites in the Bronx, such as Fordham University, where it is in residence. It has also performed at major Manhattan cultural centers, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and has made numerous recordings. The Bronx Arts Ensemble presents an annual children's performance series and weaves family-friendly programs into its general performance schedule. Concerts are held at Fordham University, parks throughout the Bronx, Woodlawn Cemetery and the Riverdale YM-YWHA. Tickets are affordable, and the summer series is free. A series at the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture brings both adult and children's programs to the South Bronx.
