Founded in 1972 as the Bronx Chamber Orchestra, the ensemble gives concerts at Lehman College's Lovinger Theatre. The ensemble performs music from all periods of the orchestral repertory and all concerts are free.
Mon - Thurs: 8 am-8 pm Fri & Sat: 10 am-5 pm The Parkchester Branch of the New York Public Library began serving the Northeast section of the Bronx in 1942 when it was originally housed in the Parkchester Housing Development. In June 1985, the library moved to its present quarters along Westchester Avenue. The branch serves a multi-ethnic neighborhood with a growing population of immigrants from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Africa and the Middle East. The branch is a spacious brick building and serves a predominantly Italian and Irish community in the Pelham Bay and Country Club sections of the Bronx. Fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs, the one-story facility houses adult, young adult, children's and reference collections.
