New York Fashion Week (September 4-11) goes by in the blink of a model’s turn on the catwalk. Fashionistas can examine the high fashion coming up for Spring/Summer 2015 in the comfort of their own homes by watching the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion show live online.

You can also get into the spirit of Fashion Week at several fashion exhibitions in New York City. Currently at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology , “Exposed: A History of Lingerie” looks at developments in intimate apparel from the 18th century to the present. On September 23, FIT opens “Dance & Fashion,” an exhibition that explores the relationship between the two art forms.

The Brooklyn Museum is calling all shoe lovers this September for “Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe.” The exhibition will present a 400-year history of fabulous footwear, revealing high heels as both stunning architectural creations and works of art in their own right.
