Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” will be performed on December 13 featuring the Boys of the Saint Thomas Choir and harpist Sara Cutler. Britten’s famous sequence of carols has become a contemporary Christmas tradition since its composition in the 1970s, and will be performed alongside other holiday works under the direction of Daniel Hyde. Daniel Hyde will also perform Olivier Messiaen’s holiday organ masterpiece, La Nativité du Seigneur on December 22 as part of Concerts at Saint Thomas’s Grand Organ Series. This unique nine-piece cycle offers listeners a synesthetic world of color and sound, perfect for showcasing some of the most hidden and delicate sounds of the Miller-Scott Organ.
