The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to the New York City Center stage for an extraordinary 60th Anniversary holiday season from November 28 through December 30. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey’s acclaimed dancers will share inspiring artistry with premieres, new productions, repertory favorites by some of today’s prolific choreographers, along with a variety of special programs including “Lazarus,” the Company’s first two-act ballet by Rennie Harris, inspired by Alvin Ailey’s life and legacy. Harris connects the past and present in the powerful work that addresses the racial inequities America faced when Mr. Ailey founded this company in 1958 and still faces today. For a full schedule of Ailey’s 60th Anniversary performances, visit the New York City Center’s performance calendar.
