As part of a worldwide celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the Folger Shakespeare Library is launching a nation-wide tour of First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare, published in 1623. New-York Historical, together with the 92nd Street Y and The Public, will help present this pivotal and incredibly rare book.

Containing the first published scripts of 36 of Shakespeare’s most famous plays—including Hamlet, Macbeth and As You Like It — the First Folio will be on display at the New-York Historical Society for 6 weeks, beginning June 7.
