Award-winning musician Joe Kye will bring his unique blend of violin looping, electronics, singing, and storytelling in “Migrants”, which he will perform together with Chinese-American hip-hop artist Jason Chu, as a special guest, at Flushing Town Hall on March 29. The show tells the story of Joe’s life as an immigrant Asian-American, weaving together original music, humorous stories, and cutting-edge technology. A pre-show workshop on expressing cultural identity through sound will ask questions such as: what does it mean to be Asian-American? how can creativity give people the tools to build their identity?
