This season, Flushing Town Hall is opening its doors to teenagers for free. Under the “Teen Access Program,” all 13- to 19-year-olds (whether a member or not) will be welcomed to attend any performance for free.
Jose Conde Eclectric and his Cuban dance band, Ola Fresca, will perform their latest hits, kicking off a series of Hispanic Heritage Month events. Attendees will start with a dance lesson and salsa the night away! Conde is best known for his mixture of Latin musical genres with his Cuban American background, exploring the crosscurrents of son, salsa, timba, funk, and more.
Over three albums, Jose Conde and Ola Fresca have transformed their sound from rustic traditional Cuban music to trombone led salsa and contemporary “timba” inspired tunes. His newest exploration is his solo “Eclectric” project, combining the modern musical stylings of loops, synthesis, and electronic beats with acoustic elements.
