Recognized as one of the classical music world’s finest solo, chamber and orchestral musicians, Anthony McGill was named Principal Clarinet of the New York Philharmonic effective September 15, 2014. He previously served as Principal Clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Associate Principal Clarinet of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

McGill has appeared as soloist with many orchestras including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra and the New York String Orchestra, all at Carnegie Hall. In January of 2015 he performed and recorded the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto with the New York Philharmonic. Other recent performances have been with the Baltimore Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Orchestra 2001 and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.
