Known for their powerful choral appearances and world-class concert performances, Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) celebrates the holiday season with two concerts: Messiah…Refreshed! and Appalachian Winter: A Bluegrass Christmas.
On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 2 p.m., Maestro Jonathan Griffith will conduct DCINY’s seventh annual presentation of Beecham/Goossens’ 1959 full symphony reorchestration of Handel’s Messiah. The performance highlights an international choir combining singers from the continents of Asia, Europe, North America and Australia, with featured vocalists Penelope Shumate, Soprano; Claudia Chapa, Mezzo-Soprano; John McVeigh, Tenor, and Christopher Job, Baritone.
On Monday, November 27, 2017, at 7 p.m., Grammy Award-winners Dailey & Vincent blend their Bluegrass, Country and Southern Gospel sound with over 400 singers from 23 choral ensembles representing more than a dozen states to perform the world premiere of Rhapsody in Bluegrass by noted American composer and conductor Joseph Martin.
