The dance collective Love | Forte, made up of Nia Love and Marjani Forte, has literally been cooking up a performance during their artist-in-residency program at BAX. Food and family recipes as the connective tissue of generations and history, particularly within the African diaspora, is a central theme to their new work. Audience members should be prepared to interact with the dynamic and friendly duo during this feast for the senses which recognizes hardship as well as resilience.
Nia Love is the founder of Blacksmith’s Daughter. Marjani Forte formerly danced with Urban Bush Women.
