Soho Photo Gallery was founded in 1971 by a group of New York Times photographers who wanted to create a venue for photography as fine art. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization directed and operated by our artists. We exhibit the work of our gallery artists—as well as invited guests and artists whose work has been selected in our competitions. Soho Photo has more than 235 linear feet of exhibit wall space. All of that room affords us the opportunity to show significant bodies of work from up to seven artists concurrently. New shows open each month. You will find diverse and compelling work here. Each month, we exhibit significant bodies of work from several gallery artists concurrently. For our artists, the benefits are substantial: the privilege to show in a prominent New York City gallery; access to workshops and discussion groups; and the support of peers who understand the challenges of developing and realizing a clear photographic vision.
