Description

The American Institute of Graphic Arts is an advocate for commercial graphic design in all of its manifestations. The exhibition program is particularly active. Exhibits, often the result of international competitions, display the leading examples of book designs, print ads, promotional materials, product labels and packaging. Exhibits have included Artist and Alphabet, a look at the changing face of hand-lettering; AIGA Communications Graphics 2000, consisting of 107 award-winning trademark designs; and the annual 50 Books/50 Covers. The institute also presents talks by leading designers and a mentoring program for student designers.
