Theatre Rehabilitation for Youth, founded in 1984,
seeks to use the theater arts to enlighten and educate. The company takes its workshop programs to numerous schools, where it also performs plays on a variety of topics relevant to youth, such as alcoholism, bigotry, anxiety and making appropriate life choices. There is also a Shakespeare for Children series. The organization has produced videos for youth on subjects including prevention of molestation and safe driving practices.

Workshops conducted by theater professionals support a host of curriculum requirements. Program content is determined in collaboration with the educator. The organization depends on grants and funding to produce its works for schools and groups.
