Two exhibition spaces feature shows in virtually all aspects of the fine and applied arts: painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking, photography, architecture, decorative arts, film, video and performance art. Exhibits have included Camera as Weapon: Worker Photography Between the Wars, Against Nature: Japanese Art in the Eighties and Sonia Delaunay: A Retrospective. The gallery is guardian to the New York University Art Collection, which includes works by Romare Bearden, Jane Freilicher, Adolph Gottlieb, Lee Krasner, Kenneth Noland and Ad Reinhardt. A unique part of the NYU Collection is the Ben and Abby Weed Grey Collection of Contemporary Asian and Middle Eastern Art, Exhibition-related gallery talks, lectures and symposia are also offered.
