The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene is America’s preeminent Yiddish cultural organization.  Established in 1915, the Folksbiene (the People’s Stage) is committed to promote and develop Yiddish theatre for current and future generations and enhance the understanding of Yiddish culture.  The longest continuously producing Yiddish theatre company in the world, it is one of four international Yiddish theatre companies in operation today.

Each season the National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene presents more than 100 programs and presentations, which include outreach performances on City University of New York (CUNY) college campuses and in senior community centers, mainstage productions, and educational Yiddish workshops for all ages.  English and Russian supertitles accompany each performance.

Schools can arrange for one of the organization’s Yiddish cultural workshops and touring performances.
