Description

American Bolero Dance Company (ABDC) was founded in 1996 by Gabriela Granados with the mission to preserve and present Spanish dance and music in their many forms. The company's repertory encompasses classical and folkloric Spanish dances, 18th-century Escuela Bolera, Zarzuela and Flamenco.

In 2002, ABDC established its Spanish Dance School in Queens, NY.  The School offers seasonal courses for adults and children (starting at age 4), with instruction in Flamenco, Ballet, Regional Folk and Character dances, and Clasico Espanol.  The school currently operates at Sol Dance Center in Astoria.

Since 2008, the Company has been presenting a series of live shows entitled Tablao Flamenco, featuring Flamenco and other styles of dance and music performed by local and international artists.  Also held in Astoria at The Chian Federation, performances are presented in a cabaret-style format similar to the flamenco clubs (or 'tablaos') in Spain.
