Programs for Seniors
The Senior Arts in Action is a multi-arts program that uses movement, music and writing to stimulate mind, body and spirit. The program engages all participants in doing and creating, whether the participant is completely physically functional or wheel-chair bound. Artists and physical therapists address the specific needs of seniors at each location. The program is appropriate for senior centers, nursing homes, community centers and retirement living communities. Programs lasting eight weeks or longer often culminate in a performance of works created along with dances by Artichoke Dance Company. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The company's programs for schools include support materials for classroom teachers leading up to and following a performance; direct impact programs that place a teaching artist in the classroom, partnering with classroom teachers to imaginatively bring the school curriculum to life for students; after-school programs and professional development for teachers in methods of teaching and learning through the arts.
