Utilizing various media, Axis Theatre Company has produced an eclectic series of original and published plays with highly advanced, state-of-the art technological components that enhance the internal meaning of the material. Founded in 1996, the company's past productions include: Buchner's Woyzeck, Beckett's Play, Benjamin Baker's 1848 sensation A Glance at New York (2007 Edinburgh Fringe and New York City) and the U.S. premiere of Sarah Kane’s Crave, starring Deborah Harry. The episodic play HOSPITAL, about the interior life of a man in a coma, is a West Village cult event every summer.
Every year during the holidays the company performs Seven In One Blow, or The Brave Little Kid, a children's play in the style of a pantomime that has since been published by Dramatists Play Service. Axis Theatre Company was awarded the prestigious Fringe First Award at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
