The American Sephardi Federation (ASF)/Sephardic House (SH) aims to preserve and support the rich cultural traditions, spirit and history of all Sephardic communities as an integral part of Jewish experience and heritage.
ASF was founded in 1973 and merged with Sephardic House in June 2002. ASF/SH maintains the only Sephardic Library and Archives in the Western Hemisphere available to the general public. The Leon Levy exhibition galleries are devoted solely to Sephardic themes.
ASF/SH provides rich educational and cultural public programs, including the annual NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival and publishes scholarly books, art catalogs, and The Sephardi Report. ASF is one of the five founding partners of the Center for Jewish History, which includes the American Jewish Historical Society, the Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
