Rebecca Kelly Ballet is a touring contemporary chamber ballet company based in Soho, and since 1987, in the Northern Adirondacks. Its activities focus on the creation and performance of original topical or environmentally themed ballets.
Since 1993, the SoHo studio has offered Kids Co-Motion dance classes for toddlers through teens. Its teaching artists also conduct residencies at nursery schools and playgroups.
Behind the Scenes is the annual family-friendly studio matinee performance series in which soloists perform Nutcracker repertory favorites including the Grand Pas, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier, the Snow Queen, and Arabian and Russian Trepak variations. Each event includes a reception with the artists and the famous “Tray of Sweets.”
Drop-in classes and semester-long classes are arranged by age group. The SoHo studio is on the fourth floor, reachable by staircase only.
Teacher training, panelists, consultants, mentorships and internships are provided in each of RKB's programs, which are supported by the Appleby Foundation.
Dancing with Delight is a 73-page dance instruction manual for those teaching early childhood dance and is available for purchase through the company Web site.
