At its space in the East Village, the Theater for the New City houses four individual theaters: the Joyce and Seward Johnson Theater, the Cino Theater, the Community Space Theater and the Cabaret Theater. It produces 30 to 40 premieres of new American plays per year; at least 10 of these are by emerging and young playwrights.

Programs for Seniors
TNC distributes free tickets to a core group of more than 25 community organizations, including senior citizens centers. The program encourages thousands of disabled and elderly New Yorkers to attend TNC theater productions.

The education program is designed for at-risk students as well as those with limited proficiency in English. It is composed of an after-school program in the lower east side and it has served P.S. 20, JHS 64, the Regents Family Shelter and the Catherine Street Shelter. The Afterschool Program also serves youth in their early teens.
