Dance New Amsterdam (DNA), formerly Dance Space Center, serves a community of more than 32,000 dance artists (students, performers, choreographers, and other professionals) and audience members. Each week, DNA holds more than 130 classes of all levels in its 6 studios. An average of 12 modern guest artists also teach professional-level classes each month.
DNA offers classes in ballet, modern, hip-hop and other movement techniques, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Every year, DNA also hosts more than 40 performances in its 100-seat black box theater.
Group rates are offered for classes that wish to attend a DNA performance. Also, dance students visting New York are welcome to take drop-in classes. Classes are generally attended by adults but are offered in all levels from beginning to advanced.
