The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center at LaGuardia Community College presents culturally and ethnically diverse programming. With technical features that rival those of many Manhattan theaters and a location which makes it easily accessible from Midtown, the center is the largest theater of its kind in Western Queens and has quickly found its place within the city's rich array of cultural resources.

The center presents performances for many children and families for whom a live theater experience is entirely new and who might not otherwise ever see one. The center presents the Jazz Jam Series; a Weekend Family Series of theater, dance and music; the Schooltime Series; and the Lunchtime and Teatime Concert Series, as well as special events throughout the year. The center also serves the community by offering its facilities for rent. Its 740-seat main stage is a traditional proscenium-arch theater with a level of finish appropriate for formal, public presentations of the performing arts. The Little Theatre, by contrast, features a raised, thrust stage surrounded on three sides by 226 seats. Both theaters are served by lobby and box office facilities.

The Weekend Family Series offers educational matinees for children and their families including theater, music and dance.

The Schooltime Series offers weekday educational programs for children including theater, music and dance.

LPAC's professional development program for teachers has four components: seminars led by arts educators and performers, follow-up in-school workshops with teachers and students, professional performances and performances by students.
