The choir was established in 2010 to perform major choral works with the Astoria Symphony. Past seasons have included works by Handel, Haydn, Lauridsen, Mozart, and Vivaldi, as well as world premieres by living composers.

The Astoria Symphonic Choir works in collaboration with the Astoria Music Society to provide world-class choral music experiences to singers and audiences in the community of Astoria, New York.

The ASC is made up of about 50-60 amateur and professional singers primarily from the Astoria Community. The choir rehearses weekly on Monday evenings and presents four concerts per season, at least two of which are collaborations with the Astoria Symphony Orchestra.
