Lincoln Center Out of Doors opens its 46th season of free performances on July 20th with Patti Smith in “A Night of Words and Music.” The festival runs through August 7. Among the highlights: “The Bells: A Daylong Celebration of Lou Reed,” a special tribute to the late musician, which will take place on July 30th and will be followed by a screening of Julian Schnabel’s film “Berlin.”
