NYC-ARTS visits the Brooklyn studio of José Parlá a Cuban-American artist who finds inspiration in the architecture and history of cities that he visits around the world. His critically acclaimed works, which include painting, sculpture, video and large scale murals, have been on view in art galleries and museums in the United States and abroad.
Alan Gilbert’s tenure as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic will wrap up with concerts celebrating the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders. Gilbert will be joined by musicians from around the world in a program that includes Mahler’s “Symphony No. 7.” The concerts will take place at David Geffen Hall through June 10th.
