AND OFTEN SEEN IN HER PAINTINGS AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE ARTISTS.

THEY REFLECT HER PASSIONATE EMBRACE OF HER CULTURAL HERITAGE.

BUT THEY ALSO DEMONSTRATE HOW SHE CAREFULLY CRAFTED HER APPEARANCE TO SHAPE HER PUBLIC AND POLITICAL IDENTITY.
